TEAM INDIA opening batsman Virender Sehwag has been forced out of the ICC T20 Globe Cup 2010 due to a shoulder injury and he has been replaced by Tamil Nadu batsman Murali Vijay in the ICC Twenty20 World Cup tournament that will begin from April 30.
Sehwag was injured throughout a match of the Indian Premier League, whilst playing for the Delhi Daredevils. The ace cricketer has been asked to take rest for three to 4 weeks, therefore ruling him out of the T20 planet cup tournament.
ICC selectors have picked up Tamil Nadu and and Chennai Super Kings batsman Murali Vijay to replace Sehwag. Gautam Gambhir has been the vice captain of the team.
This is a shocking news for Team India since Virender Sehwag is a critical member of team and he was also an important player in the Indian victory in T20 world Cup in South Africa.
A comparable injury to Sehwag had rocked India’s campaign in the previous edition of the Twenty20 planet cup in England. Though he travelled along with the team, he did not play a game there.
The T20 Globe Cup will start off from April 30 in the West Indies.
